Arizona wine isn’t a novelty anymore, it’s a real wine region with real fruit, real elevation, and a growing map of people making it their own way. If you’re searching for Arizona wine, you’re in the right place.
Cactus Cru is a licensed Arizona farm winery. We make small-batch wines from grapes grown across the state’s high-desert vineyards, then get them into glasses through shops, restaurants, the wine club, and online shipping where it’s allowed. We don’t have a public tasting room yet. Until we do, this is how you find us.
What Arizona wine tastes like here
Arizona’s vineyards sit high: big day/night temperature swings, intense sun, and fruit that can hold acidity and aroma even in the desert. A large share of the state’s grapes come from areas like Willcox and the Chiricahua foothills; you’ll also find fruit and energy from Verde Valley sites and other partner growers we work with.
We source from those partners, places like Hassayampa, Red Tree Ranch, Rhumb Line, House Mountain / DA Ranch, and Sierra Bonita, and vinify in small lots with trusted Arizona facilities. The wines stay close to the fruit: native ferments, minimal additions, typically unfined and unfiltered, with only what the wine needs to travel well. Natural / low-intervention is how we work. Arizona wine is what we make.
Meet the people behind it
Cactus Cru was founded by Timo Geis. French-born, Sedona-raised, Phoenix-based, after years in wine (including importing) and training at the Southwest Wine Center. The project is hands-on and community-shaped: harvest help from friends in restaurants and shops, playful labels, and wines named for people and stories that matter.
